I generally try my best to reference only gamer topics, but I think I like this way too much to not share. Essentially, a group called Improv Everywhere has been finding new ways to interact with the environment around us. Since it involves unusual interaction, I think it applies.
For a quick idea of what they do...they will all go to a place and, with synced watches, freeze in place for 5 min. They might all listen to the same MP3 over headphones that gives them instructions (imagine 100s of people all being told to do jumping jacks on some plaza at the same time, but not talking...all listening to headphones), or dressing in plain blue shirts and stand around Best Buy confusing customers who think they are employees.
Watch the video above for one example. I really enjoy these guys because they are finding ways to break down the barriers we have on "normal" interaction. Possibly part art, part mental fuck, this group has found an amusing and thought provoking way to exist in space that normally had unspoken rules. The key is that nothing is really illegal, but rather just strange. 100s of people stopping in place. Might make those who think they are normal flip a bit and think the world is coming to an end...or that they are stuck in some strange time warp.
I landed a job at Snowblind Studios where I will be working on a great new title that I can't talk about all...yet. I'm really excited and a bit nervous about a move to Seattle, but ready to rock. It's gonna be fun!
Brazil banned Counter Strike and EQ (thanks Kotaku). WTF? So how in the fuck are you going to enforce it? Dumb heads!
