Just been watching all the videos that came along with my new Domo Mimobot and it reminded me of Domo Darko, the first video...which, of course, reminded me that CliffyB used Mad World for his Gears commercial. Great work for both. I really want to make a Domo game. It's the first time I think I have ever considered making a kids game.
Crysis has to be the most beautufily realistic game out ever. Unfortunately, I cannot even consider running it as I sure as hell am not going to settle for low settings and sure as hell can't afford a $5000+ new computer (being unemployed) to run it on very high settings.
Soooo, I scour the YouTubes for videos of what I could be getting IF I decided to sell my first born. The level editor rocks, by the way...I can't wait to check it out in a year or two. :P
Check out the video above that someone made to show off the really neato physics that the engine can do. Take note, I believe the entire thing was RENDERED at 8spf (seconds per frame), so its not like this is real time...but it's still cool beans.
The video below is just a soothing look and feel for being on the ocean. Ah I wish I could build levels in this engine...sigh.
OMG! Looks like Blizzard is having some fun with their marketing as they have just released two commercials starting none other than Mr. T and William Shatner. Apparently Verne Troyer is next, but I haven't seen that one yet.
Of course Mr. T is his usual angry self and Shatner is a bit more cut and dry, but I love em both. My real question is if they both really do play WoW or not? Does anyone know? Not that it really makes a different all that much though. Enough people play WoW that I am sure some celebs play and don't tell anyone. Its a space were they can not be hounded as no one needs to know they are famous.
I was going to add to this post the video that Blizzard made at the end of BlizzCon, but click the link instead. I didn't want to overload this post with Blizzard videos AND watching it kinda made me a bit sad. Sad at all the dorks, but really just sad about Gods and Heroes and what it could have been if we didn't have so many roadblocks along the way. You live and learn I guess. So anyway...
Thanks to Ryan Shwayder's Nerfbat for giving me the lead on the commercials...I don't watch TV anymore and don't play WoW anymore either, so I total missed these.
Just wanted to let everyone know about the new Max Payne indy film that is about to wrap. Hot damn, I can't believe that I didn't know about this sooner since Max Payne 1 is up there as one of my favorite games. Anyone remember playing the dream and drug sequences. Top notch level and story design if you ask me.
Here is a link to the blog. Click here if you want to download the trailer that came out just over a week ago.
Well I finally got around to watching Pure Pwnage's latest episode, episode 13. I am happy to say that this time they yanked most of their shark-jumping special effects in favor of some return to the old skool. WAY old skool.
In fact, Jeremy rediscovers C&C. I won't go into any details for those who are fans and have not yet watched it, but rest assured that if you didn't like the episodes that started turning the cast into magic slinging superheroes, this one brings it back to the flavor of the originals.
Jump in and check it out. If you haven't seen any of them, start at episode 1 and tell me what you think.
